Born in District Six, Mark attended the Zonnebloem Boys Practicing School until his family was relocated to the Cape Flats. He completed his high school career at the South Peninsula High School in Diep River. In 1980 he joined the Cape Town Traffic Service and advanced rapidly through the ranks to become the youngest ever Traffic Manager in 1997.
Mark is a well-known and respected specialist in local government policing. During his 26-year career he held senior management and director positions with the City of Cape Town. In 1999 he was promoted to Director of Protection Services and in 2001 he became the first ever Chief of the Cape Town City Police, a position he held until May 2005.
He was a member of the Minister of Community Safety’s Strategic Advisory Committee for a number of years and has served on several local, provincial and national steering committees within the field of law enforcement.
Jeremy completed his schooling at Milton Boys High in Bulawayo and in 1977 he joined the British South Africa Police, serving in various posts throughout Matabeleland.
In 1982 he left to pursue a career in the private security industry in South Africa. The following year he joined A.J. Gray Security Services as a security manager and in 1995 he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Gray Security Services, Western Cape. During this time he was responsible for a large portfolio of clients including many blue chip and listed organizations.
In 2002 Jeremy was in charge of the establishment of the company’s Coastal Marketing Division, which he ran successfully for two further years. After serving the company for 22 years, he left to join Orbis Security Solutions.
After attending school in Kenya and later Pietermaritzburg, Ian completed his B.Com at the University of Natal. He worked in the Internal Audit Division of Caltex Oil (SA) for four years, before spending close to a decade in the manufacturing industry in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.
In 1988 Ian joined Gray Security Services, Western Cape as Financial Manager. This career move coincided with a growth phase in the company, and he became responsible for maintaining financial control and discipline as the company expanded up the coast and later into Africa.
In 1997 he was appointed to the Main Board of Gray Security Services – at this stage arguably the most successful private security company in South Africa. As Group Financial Director, his key responsibilities included balancing business performance with accounting, governance, risk and audit compliance.
Stuart was born in Northern KwaZulu-Natal and completed his schooling there before moving to Cape Town in 1984 to join the South African Marines. He served as an officer for six years until he left to join the private security industry.
Stuart’s first position was with a company specialising in Special Investigations, which gave him valuable experience in this area and the opportunity to interact with a wide range of security companies and businesses.
He joined Gray Security Services in 1995, extending his experience further in diverse environments ranging from tertiary, shopping centres to residential estates and corporate properties.
Born in Cape Town, Sharon completed her schooling in 1984 and spent a further five years completing numerous financial diploma's whilst running the finance department of a small manufacturing company
In 1989 Sharon joined Gray Security Services Western Cape and whilst running the debtors department she gained a valuable insight into the local security industry. Sharon's regular interaction with the client base gave her an appreciation of an evolving industry where service delivery at all levels across the company would be key in maintaining and retaining client relationships.
In 2002, Sharon moved to Arvin Meritor an American based company. There she gained further valuable work experience dealing with many of the leading blue chip car manufacturers both locally and internationally. In 2006, Sharon joined Orbis Security Solutions where she is currently a Director of the Company.
Monia matriculated from Rhenish Girl’s High School in Stellenbosch before completing her Honours in Industrial Psychology at the University of Stellenbosch in 1999. After spending some time abroad, she returned to South Africa and joined a Cape Town based recruitment company where she gained extensive experience in recruitment and selection.
Monia later joined a large FMCG company where she was responsible for the design, implementation and management of various human resources development initiatives. Monia then joined a pharmaceutical company where she was responsible for the full human resources function including Organisational Development as well as providing advice and management support to functional managers, before specialising in performance management at an ICT organisation.
In 2009, Monia obtained her masters in Industrial Psychology from the University of South Africa and registered as an Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
